Our practice in this area is concentrated on complex projects involving unique structures, collateral and business lines. We represent both lenders and borrowers. Transaction experience is also varied, ranging from private placements of multi-billion dollar catastrophe-related credit facilities for insurance clients to structured bank loans to not-for-profit companies.
Our broad experience in government finance is described under public finance services, and our real estate finance practice is described under the real estate services area.
Asset-Based Lending
In addition to assisting with traditional credit facilities for bank clients, we also analyze, structure and document a variety of credit solutions for private firms with collateral assets ranging from contract receivables on international accounts to high-tech chemicals inventory. Our firm also structures and negotiates lending arrangements to support the expansion of our clients’ logistics businesses, utilizing combinations of collateral, cross-guarantees and performance guarantees.
Private Placements
We represent borrowers in private placements of securities, including providing capital for potential insurance claims for a specialty insurer, and providing long-term takeouts of acquisition and development bank loans for charter school facilities.
Lines of Credit
Representing lenders and borrowers in line-of-credit facilities, we work to ensure that the business needs of the parties are fully addressed, whether the project is a single bank, single borrower facility, or a complex syndicated line of credit.
Charter School Finance
This unique and developing industry has its own set of market participants and specialized lending issues. Our firm is at the forefront of this lending specialty, having represented lenders and borrowers in acquisition and development loans, equipment loans, and long-term finance.
Interest Rate Hedging
On behalf of our borrower clients, we help structure a variety of interest rate swap transactions and assist in “unwinding” these transactions as needs and market conditions change over time.
